【講座】Sensitive March: Six Decades of the Tibetan Resistance Movement
地點: New Bloom
活動:fb://event/882107559721802
This year commemorates the 64th anniversary of the uprising against the CCP’s rule of Tibet that took place on March 10, 1959, now referred to as Tibetan Uprising Day. This was followed two days later by what is now commemorated as Tibetan Women’s Uprising Day, with thousands of women taking to the streets of Lhasa in protest. Consequently, with continued repression in subsequent decades, March has been referred to as “Sensitive March”, with the CCP taking measures in anticipation of possible protests each March.
To discuss current events in Tibet, as well as how they relate to Taiwan, we will hold a panel event with a series of distinguished speakers, to reflect both on history and more recent events. The panel will be held as a hybrid event, with some speakers in Taipei, and other attending online.
Organized by New Bloom Magazine and the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University.
