On February 25, Aaron Bushnell, a 25-year-old U.S. Air Force veteran, set himself on fire outside the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C. in protest of U.S. support for Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Prior to his action, he declared, "I will no longer be complicit in genocide."
Join us for a protest on March 24th at Liberty Square to express Taiwan's condemnation of the genocide in Gaza, support for Palestinian self-determination, and total rejection of Taiwan's participation in this atrocity of any form.
Taiwan, which calls itself a “democratic and free country,” cannot stand by while genocide occurs. We demand that Taiwan's military-industrial complex stops supplying Israel's defense industry. We especially demand an end to the recently established "Taiwan-Israel Congressional Friendship Association".
We invite Taiwanese and non-Taiwanese friends alike to join us for a die-in protest in front of Liberty Square, and to declare together that we refuse to be accomplices to genocide!
This event will include two protest actions: Painting Tears for Palestine (inspired by @apu_to_palestine and @palestinejapan) and a die-in protest, please feel free to bring your own props and materials to the protest.
